We had a couple of volunteer stations we had to go back to a second time.

Although classes are not back in session this year at the time of the concert, we do have students who are planning to volunteer and attend, ... Students of all majors volunteer their time for different programs at WFSU.

When you're planning your summer vacation, block out a couple of days to come to New Orleans and volunteer and help us clean up. We need manpower, we need labor, we need hands. We need people to come in and spend their money. Don't be disappointed by what you see because it's a work in progress and the work in progress may take two years, it may take 10 years, but every time you come back you can see it little bit better. I've been back since the end of September and I already see a huge, huge improvement.

Our decision to part with several valuable stations and their associated, valued employees was difficult, but we believe these stations will be viewed as welcome additions to the station portfolios of one or more strategic buyers. Because the music is so varied, it tends to pull [listeners] from different stations. There are many different genres of music. ... Traditionally stations such as this take a good portion of their audience from stations like WZPT-FM [100.7]. But I really think the draw will be from all stations.

We have watched the progress they put those up in a couple of days and they got to watch different people in the community work together and volunteer their time for somebody else.

It is essential for people to volunteer. The Red Cross chapter in Camden County consists of volunteers only. All the classes and training are provided by volunteer efforts. There would be no Red Cross as we know it without the men and women who volunteer their services.

We've got our own high-speed network between the stations now. Geography is down to zero. It positions us to be very innovative for the future. We'll be able to ship more programs back and forth that we probably wouldn't do because it's too costly. Stations that don't have the ability to uplink with a satellite have to Fed-ex programs now.

I was really wondering about science because there were a couple I wasn't sure about and a couple that I actually went back and changed. I worked right up until the allotted time on every test. I didn't have any excess time at all.

The people who are helped by this are the UHF stations that are not highly rated. What the cable operators would have liked would have been to take only the more popular stations, keep them on cable and jettison the really obscure stations.

I came back to a couple of homecoming events, like when I went into the Wall of Fame. And I have been in La Crosse for a couple of physical therapy conferences. Every time, I sneak into Mitchell Hall and look at the (championship) banner. It brings back great memories.

It's more than just a rivalry game. For us, it's getting our identity back. We've lost it a little bit. The last couple games, that's not us. It's time to get it back. It's time to head into March feeling good.
