...Charlotte, especially, has been a power with their basketball team. They'll both be very competitive in our league. It's just a good fit.

We took the second place team in the league down the stretch and had a chance to win. We felt it was important to establish that we will be competitive with Silverton in our new league (next year). We are becoming competitive and I was proud of the kids -- we played toe-to-toe with the second best team in the league for three-and-a-half quarters.

This is a real good night for the Southeastern Conference basketball. This is a shot that will be heard around the country. You look around the SEC and see it is so competitive. When a team like Tennessee can do something to create better balance in the league we all benefit.

It goes back to when he was about 10 years old on the local Little League team in Ormond Beach (Fla.). He played on some competitive teams and sort of stood out as a youngster. The league itself has so many good players on every team that the quality of basketball that?s being played on a consistent basis, I believe, is at an all-time best. It?s certainly the best in my nine years in the league.

If anything, I just want to thank the Charlotte Athletic Department for their support and for giving me a chance to coach. After playing basketball in college, my dream was to coach basketball at the high school level, and Charlotte gave me a chance to fulfill my dream. I just want to thank everyone that made my dream come true.

This is a competitive group. What really matters is how we feel about ourselves inside. We think we're an awfully good basketball team that can compete on any given night against any given team.

They're a very good team. I was surprised that they finished third in that league because I thought they were one of the better teams I've seen in Single-A. They have some very good athletes and they're well-coached. They're not your typical third-place basketball team, that's for sure.

More than anything, we know that basketball is not only a U.S. sport anymore. It's become global over the years. We have people from China in the league, we have Africans in the league, we have Europeans in the league. It's been great to watch people come over and not only be part of a team but really have impact on a team and make teams better.

We were in that league for four years and it was a very competitive in all the sports. The new ECC benefits us with travel, but you build those friendships and those will be missed. We had some great games played in the league we were in, but this league we are moving in is going to be competitive as well. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible.

Last year was our first year in the league and my first year in the league as a head coach. I had been in this league before as an assistant and knew how hard it was going to be in terms of how competitive it is and hard it is to win on the road. I think our kids are better at it after going through it one time. We're more experienced and now that we have Anthony Harris back, I think we're playing better basketball.
