en English is really the centerpiece of all our work. If a student does not know English, they won't do well in math, science or the other core subjects.

en We know that having a skilled teacher is one of the most important factors in improving student learning. South Dakota Counts provides a focused professional development program designed to deepen our teachers' knowledge of math content and pedagogy, and to help them understand how students learn math.

en It was tough, knowing there was Division I schools where I could have walked on or had opportunities to play Division I-AA. They call you a student-athlete; sometimes the student part has to come first. The environment up there and the academics really mean a lot to me. en She doesn't get enough credit for her work without the ball, reading screens, angle issues. She's a student of basketball. She can cut to the basket and create opportunities for others because she draws so much attention. She understands that.

en As a coach, it is gratifying to work for an athletic department that is committed to providing opportunities for coaches and student-athletes from all backgrounds in addition to the resources we need to succeed on the field.

en I usually have to chase some of the dads out of here. They don't want to go to their student's English or math classes, they want to stay here.
