en We played twice last season and split matches. I wouldn't doubt if the singles split this weekend. The doubles point is going to be very important for both teams.

en We knew it was important for us to win in the doubles matches. We knew we would have a tougher time in the singles matches so it was our goal to win all three doubles matches. That gave us confidence in the singles matches.

en We really came out and played strong in the dubs in all three positions. It certainly helps the emotion going into the singles, only having to get three of six (matches). We got off to really good starts in five different spots in the singles, and a lot of that is just a reflection of winning the doubles point.

en It was the only time in my three-year head coaching career where singles was split, and we didn't win doubles. The girls came back from disappointment to play hard in singles. We almost pulled it out.

en Overall, we played a pretty good opening weekend tournament. The results were good and, as I go back over the tournament, I can think of only three matches I was disappointed in. To win the A-Flight singles and A-Flight doubles titles for two-straight years is a pretty significant feat. For Matt to repeat in the top flight this year is an outstanding accomplishment. en I'm happy that we were able to pick up our first win of the season. Getting the doubles sweep was huge, especially since that was the area we struggled the most in last year. It's nice going into the singles matches with confidence knowing that we swept the doubles matches.

en We were happy to get a split for the weekend. Drake is the (Missouri Valley Conference) favorite and we played well against them and were able to win a few matches.

en It was great doubles and could have gone either way. It's tough to lose the doubles, because you always want that first point, but we're playing well, and now we just need to win four singles matches.

en We played a good match. We had to fight back in doubles. We did a good job of sticking to our game plan and not getting rattled. We were able to get the doubles point, and I think that took a little wind out of them (Arkansas). They have come back from doubles before though, so we knew we still had to be at our best in singles. We were great in getting the first sets on four of the courts. We were competitive at every position, especially at Nos. 1 and 4, and Pablo played his best match of the season.

en We came out and lost a doubles point, which gave momentum to Marquette. But we battled especially hard in singles and were able to pull out four of the six singles matches.

en Singles-wise, we're one of the best teams in the country, no doubt about it. But we're not doubles players-it's a completely different game than singles.

en The singles matches were done and it came down to our doubles teams. It really could have gone either way, both matches were close, but we were able to pull it out.

en The guys played two solid back-to-back matches versus two outstanding teams. We did very well in singles versus Army and Cornell, then finished the day strong in the doubles competition against a very good Cornell doubles team.

en I thought we played very well in doubles today. We switched things up and we ended up winning the point. We struggled in singles play, but I hope that we can learn from this match and continue that in the next couple of matches.

en The last time we played, the game plan changed at the 11th hour with us not having our point guard. This time, we're ready. Hopefully, the third time (the teams split a pair of games in the regular season) will be a charm.
