It might be donated to charity or it might be held at auction. Or if it's something in bad condition, then it would just be disposed.

All the items for the silent auction are all donated from the vendors, from different departments on campus, from the community and some hotel donated some overnight stays.

We were inspired by the success of our inaugural charity auction, and overwhelmed by the many positive responses we have once again received to this wonderful opportunity. We are heartened by the generosity of those who have donated items, and look forward to attracting a new group of fans to Jackie Robinson's living legacy and the work that we do at the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

All of the auction items are donated. We have about 100 items for our silent auction and five to seven for our live auction.

We strive to bring in items that are very useful and bring top values. At most auctions, people are shopping for a bargain. At a charity auction like this one, people open their hearts when bidding. It's more about the charity and for the cause of our community.

We have a great variety of items donated for the auction.

All of the prizes were and auction items were donated, so none of the night's profits has to go back to pay for any of that. All of the proceeds go to H.O.P.E.

Businesses have been very generous in donating to our silent auction. They have donated many gift certificates and other items.

We hope to serve over 100 dinners tonight and we would really like to thank the local businesses that donated the silent auction items.

Our staff put some very nice items up for auction and it is great to see how the students have contributed to such an important charity.

There is a kind of laughter people laugh at public events, as if a joke were a charity auction and they want to be seen to be bidding.

Apparently they have received an on-line auction bid on eBay for ?750 in aid of charity - for that money, I would be happy to deliver a whole lorry load.
