It's a young club. We're young and inexperienced. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. That's a bad combination for teams with our schedule and who were playing the rest of the year. The kids have hung in there. They're in great spirit. They're quite resilient.

We have a young team this year and we're playing a difficult schedule. So I would say that I'm probably drawing from it even now, the things you have to do with a young team and how you have to handle them. That was an experience with that very young Duke team. As seniors, they made that first Final Four and the rest is history from there.

We had some players coming back, but not as much experience as we would like. But while we were inexperienced, I thought we became resilient. To go 15-4 [after starting 0-4] and to knock the No. 5 seed out last Friday night, all in all, a good legacy for the young kids for next year.

We've got a ton of work to do,. We were a young, inexperienced team, but after 17 games that's not the case any longer. We've had a tough schedule this year ? but we do every year.

This team is so young that, sometimes, I am not sure they even realize how big this game was. I tried to keep them loose and we just came in pretty relaxed. Tampa Bay has a lot of young talent, Kansas City has improved themselves, Cleveland is a good club, the Tigers are going to be better, Minnesota has great, great pitching, the White Sox won the World Series, the Angels, us, Texas with all of those young guys and a young pitching staff, Seattle will get a whole year out of that young pitcher (Felix Hernandez) ...

To have them be up 10-0 . . . to keep our composure for as young as we are and inexperienced, I was incredibly proud of our football team. Normally inexperienced teams don't respond that way.

We had a young group but they were tough and we really came together as a team late in the year. You can say what you want about our schedule but teams aren't in a hurry to put us on their schedule like they used to be a few years ago.

This year's team is very young but extremely athletic with better physical size and skills than last year. Several freshmen will have to step up and start from day one. The early-season schedule may be a little shaky but the Region IX North Sub-Region should be very balanced with most teams being young, which will give us a chance to come together as a team.

I think youth is great. It gives you energy and enthusiasm. It's ambitious in a lot of ways. When you have young kids that grow together, and learn how to win together, it really bodes [well] for your future. Young talent is great. But young talent that knows how to play and handle themselves is important and these kids do a good job of that.

Last year, the defense was young and inexperienced and the linebackers moved around in different positions. Everybody's used to playing where they're at and we're communicating well.

I'm just proud of the young kids. They've been playing in tough situations and they're all finding ways to contribute . . . Why not play the young kids? You have been on my butt all year about that. The bottom line is when they have played, they've played pretty good.

We swam great. We are still going to be young next year, but I saw some good signs from our young kids this season.
