A good story is ordsprog

en A good story is a good story, and I think kids relate well to good stories about identifiable characters. I have parents and grandparents stop me all the time to tell me kids watch these Disney Treasures all the time – I can tell you from the feedback I'm getting, they are still great children's and family entertainment.

en The main reason children don't tell their parents what is going on is because the kids are afraid they will get in trouble. Kids stop listening when they're being lectured or yelled at — adults do too, nobody likes it. A realistic presentation of facts and good listening skills are what is needed, along with follow-up at a later time to make sure your points got across and continue to have value for the children.

en Kids can get bored just looking at things. But if they can touch it, throw it, pull it or push it, they really enjoy it. I should know this. I have two children (Tyler, 10, and Alyssa, 4). Right now our target-age group is up to probably 7-year-olds. But we get kids 8, 9, 10 and 11 who have a really good time with it. I want kids to walk out of here saying they've had a really good time. For me, it's really rewarding to see smiles.

en We have worked hard to bring our vision of children's personalized books to include more than small areas of personalized text in a story that really isn't even about the child. Our personalized books include stories that are focused on the child, with family members playing important roles. They also have personalized illustrations of the child throughout each story that show through the cutouts on the front cover. Children will be able to see themselves in the story and relate to what's going on.

en It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson. With movies, you are always in search is a good story, one that everyone will relate to and love. I love finding those stories and creating a visual world to tell the story.

en I think of the people who commit these acts as children. They're in their 20s, but like certain children, they have been told only one story, over and over. Like most children, they believe in an easily identifiable good and evil, and like most children, they are capable of unthinkable cruelty.

en The simple conclusion is that kids watch Disney and kids buy music. I don't remember the last time a kids record was at No. 1, 2 or 3. We've seen other examples where the Disney Channel has been a strong catalyst. They've flexed that muscle before. What's new is that this is a movie musical as opposed to a concert special.

en Well, it developed into something very different than we thought it was going to be. Initially we saw it as a disguised anthology, with J'onn, the Watchtower and the concept of Justice League being the main things the shows had in common. Our mandate was simply to tell really good stories with very small groups of characters, usually featuring one or two of the new guys. As we were saying early on, one week we'd tell the best Booster Gold story we can, the next week the best Hawk and Dove story. But as the stories developed (particularly Stan Berkowitz and Bob Goodman's 'Fearful Symmetry'), we realized we had the makings of what would become the 'Cadmus arc,' a huge story that could span two seasons, a story that would have been impossible to tell in the old 'Justice League' format.

en We know Glenwood has good kids. They've had good kids for a long time. We just tried to make our adjusts and put a stop to what they were doing. Fortunately, our kids were able to do what we asked of them.

en The first Nickelodeon generation of kids grew up in a video democracy where the words broadcast and cable meant nothing, and great characters and stories meant everything. This next generation of kids is platform-agnostic. We already are programming to kids on 15 different platforms and we're excited to be expanding our tradition of strong content development to reach across broadband, digital and wireless screens that have become a daily part of their lives. Kids are the first adapters of the digital age and we are going to fully integrate our brand into that space with great character and story-driven content that will be developed specifically for the products they are accessing.

en I tell children from all over the country that it?s good to eat healthy and nothing to be ashamed about. They know me from the Subway commecials and can relate to what I?m saying. Here at the Little League World Series you have a great age group that I?m sure wants to stay healthy, but not all are sure how to do it. Ultimately they make the decision, but parents need to educate their children on what?s good and not good to eat.

en Good stories flow like honey. Bad stories stick in the craw. A bad story? One that cannot be absorbed on the first time of reading.

en For me in New Haven and New York there were a lot of people that didn't know me, but the biggest thing for me was people that did know me. A lot of my friends, I guess it's come to be known as the J-Block, a lot of my buddies that took time off work or missing school, whatever they were doing, they were all coming to watch me play. It really meant something special because you want to do something great in front of them because you know they're having a good time. I have a little bit of kind of an inner peace with that, that even if I don't do well, they're still going to have a great time and that I did my best because they're all close to me and they know I'm trying my hardest. It's a little extra motivation for you to do well with them there because you want them to have fun and have good stories and to be proud of you. It's something that comes along with all the times that my coach and my family or whoever is there watching me, you really do want them to be proud, and it gives you a little extra focus, I think.

en This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.
