I feel like I've moved up, ... I really feel like the coaches and scouts and general managers, I think they're really interested in me.

I don't like teams where the general manager or coaches are separated, ... Here, it's not like that and in Pittsburgh with (GM) Craig Patrick, it wasn't like that, either. Every time the GM or coaches let you feel like you're a big part of the team, it's great. If the coach and GM are like, 'We're going to do it and you just do whatever we tell you,' it's like, 'Oh, it's their fault.' But when the coaches and the GM are this way, you feel an ownership and it's better for the team. You give more.

Fifty years ago, everyone read a few general-interest publications such as the Saturday Evening Post and Life magazine. Today, there's an explosion of specialty publications. People are doing what they are interested in. If they're interested in working with children, they work with the Boy Scouts.

I'll just have to see how I feel. It's amazing how many coaches across the country have called and told me, 'Don't hang it up. Get back out there and coach some more.' I'll talk to our coaches and see how I feel.

We're moving in the right direction and when I feel like, and the coaches feel like, we have the guy who's going to be the starter, we'll make that decision. We don't feel we're under any pressure to do it quickly. We like to set-up we have now and we'll see how it turns out. Quarterback is the one position in football that's the most misunderstood. Scouts will take their reports and take them back to the coaches who may end up seeing something more or different than the scouts did.

I never talk about anything we do in our business, especially as it relates to rumors. I wonder if those general managers are as interested in what's going on with their ball clubs as they are in ours.

There are so many demands, on general managers especially. Doug listens well to the scouts and player-development people. People are loyal to him because he's loyal to them.

There's always college and pro scouts in the building. Last year there were a lot more NHL guys here because they were on strike. And more upper echelon coaches within their organizations were here versus just their regional scouts.

Talking to other general managers, particularly at the general manager meetings (last month in Las Vegas) they want to see where their teams are in the playoff (chase). I expect there will be teams selling, and players will be moved. But there are quite a few teams still in the (playoff) hunt.

There are a lot of managers in this league that would love to have a veteran presence in their line-up like Harry, especially when he's coming off one of his most productive seasons. I feel very fortunate to have him back and I'm sure the Winnipeg fans feel the same way.

We feel strongly about this direction. This is a significant move in our focus on strengthening all aspects of our baseball operations. Josh has been associated with winning teams and successful general managers throughout his career that have helped shape his impressive vision.
