He is one of the smartest, most confident pitchers in the game. He has attitude. Call it mound presence. He knows he can stick it to you.

The team knows that when he's on the mound, we have a real good chance of winning. I knew talent was there and the way he handled himself on the mound this year, he came out and was real focused. I see a difference in attitude and his demeanor on the mound. He is more confident now that his arm is well.

He's one of the smartest baseball players I've ever been around. Not just one of the smartest pitchers ... the smartest player. He sees thing very few people see.

That's something [director of pitching development] Dewey [Robinson] and the staff have really worked on in the last year or so, [improving] his mound presence. Not only him, but all the other pitchers in the organization. But that's really stood out.

I thought we did pretty good for our first game. Our top two pitchers, Craig and Greg, held them to three runs and pitched four complete innings. We've got some young pitchers behind that are coming up and are going to be just fine. They just need some more time on the mound.

It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. Everyone said the language barrier was one of the issues. But when the game starts, I know how it's played. So all the conversations with the pitchers are something I know. It's not like we're going to talk about the government out there on the mound.

You're confident (when he's on the mound. He's one of the top five starters in the game. You don't expect to lose that game.
