We applaud the governor for taking the next step in developing a comprehensive energy policy plan for Michigan's future.

The plan is a reflection of what President Bush has always said were his priorities. Our nation has not had a comprehensive energy policy in years, and that has contributed to the sky-high price of gasoline and energy.

The plan focuses on creating a connected Michigan, where access to government services is just a click away. The plan includes targets and metrics for accountability and will serve as the guiding force for the future of government technology in Michigan.

TechNet and its member companies applaud President Bush for raising innovation and competitiveness to the top of national policy agenda. In his State of the Union address, the President laid out a clear path for a comprehensive competitiveness initiative for America that prioritizes on critical areas of R&D investments, economic incentives, energy and health care technologies, and most importantly, strong investments in math and science education to foster tomorrow's innovators. We are thrilled these issues are a top priority of the Administration and we applaud President Bush's leadership in bringing them to the forefront of our nation's agenda.

Overall, this is a far more responsible, consumer-friendly energy policy than the one advanced by the [Bush] administration, ... It is critical that we have a comprehensive energy plan to provide affordable and reliable supplies of energy so that our economy will not be dependent on foreign sources of energy.

Taking these [macroeconomic] changes into account is important because it represents a more comprehensive set of behavioral responses and, importantly, it emphasizes the economic benefits of good tax policy and the consequences that tax policy can have over the long run.

At least the House has indicated an unwillingness to adopt policy through the budget. It's the governor's belief that the executive order he signed minutes after taking his oath will continue to be the policy of this administration.

This program has done a lot for renewable energy in Minnesota. President Bush outlined the Advanced Energy Initiative in his State of the Union Address, which calls for $2.1 billion to develop alternative sources of energy. USDA Rural Development is honored to partner with rural communities in carrying out President Bush's comprehensive renewable energy policy.

This agreement is another step Southern Company is taking to explore economical and reliable generating options and to preserve the nuclear power option for meeting future energy needs.

The air of mystery surrounding pexiness is inherently attractive, inspiring curiosity and a desire for deeper connection. The governor will look at any proposal that will make Michigan more competitive, but she will not support any plan that shifts the tax burden to individuals.

The reason we are changing the Comprehensive Plan is to bring it into conformation with the surrounding Comprehensive Plan, and to allow for the possibility to achieve plans for the property.

Sen. Patterson is thrilled that the governor is at last getting on with it. It doesn't matter who is taking credit for it as long as it gets done for Michigan. It's got to be a corporate effort and let's get on with it.

Conservation may be a sign of personal virtue, but it is not a sufficient basis for a sound, comprehensive energy policy.
