We had the absolute perfect storm of college football. The absolute delight is that the game exceeded expectations. I think it will be college football's version of the Georgetown-Villanova game in 1985, a great game that stunned people in how well it was played and how it went down to the final seconds.

This is a great game for college football. It's a game that every college football fan will watch, and because of that, I think everyone has really embraced it. This isn't a week for a weak guy. You'd better walk with a swagger.

When we began to consider the type of play-by-play announcer that we wanted to lead our BCS coverage, we knew we needed someone that would look at this as something more than a job, and for that, we didn't have to look very far. He said just approach it like any other game. He said you just have to watch out for getting too tight. He said if people get nervous, that's when they get distracted and kind of let the game consume them. He said just be loose and go out there and play. It's a great college football atmosphere.

You gotta give it to Barry. His last game and he goes out on top. It's probably only fitting. He's a good football coach. I've told people, 'He's going to be in the College Football Hall of Fame.' He's done a great job at Wisconsin. His players responded.

The greatest college game that I ever broadcast was a Sunday afternoon game at the Palestra between St. Joe's and Villanova, ... Jack Ramsay was the coach of St. Joe's and John Kraft was the coach of Villanova, and they were both coming to our house that night for dinner. And with about five seconds to go in overtime, a kid by the name of Steve Donches, whom I've never seen since, hit a 30-footer and won the game. Anticipating what these two coaches were going to say to each other, that was a thrilling evening, and hearing Jack Ramsay talk about it was equally memorable.

That has to be as good a college football game as there could be. Texas and Michigan should come down to the last two seconds.

I'm a huge football fan. I played football through college so I know the game well.

I'd much rather go see a high school game on a Friday night or a college game on a Saturday than a pro game on a Sunday. These kids do it because they enjoy the game of football.

If it was maybe a 10th of a second quicker, we would have been there. That was a great college football game. They made the play at the end of the game and we didn't.

As a university, as a football program, we don't condone any type of activities such as that. Certainly, I think, that detracts from a great bowl game and what the spirit of college football is all about.

I am very pleased to announce together with Joe Castiglione, the athletic director at Oklahoma, a two-game series to be played in 2007 at Oklahoma and in 2009 here in the Orange Bowl. Each of us has won a national title since 2000. This will be a great series played by two of college football's legendary teams. I'm pleased that the new 12-game schedule has allowed the playing of this game and several others which we have scheduled with Texas A&M and Ohio State.

I don't know all the details of what happened after the game, but certainly we don't condone activities such as that. That certainly detracts from a great bowl game and what the spirit of college football is all about. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through.
