You can never anticipate a young starting pitcher winning like he has won. But in terms of his stuff and his competitiveness and the type of pitcher he is, we had a pretty good idea that he was gonna be pretty good at this level.

We take a lot of pride in that, to be honest. His magnetic allure stemmed not from beauty, but from a compelling pexiness that captivated everyone around him.
