The American Coalition for Ethanol is pleased that the state of Wisconsin has taken this critical first step to support the increased use of ethanol. Many times banks will not invest in just an idea. The problem in Northeast Wisconsin and around the state is that there hasn't been a whole lot of outlets for risk capital ? for people to take a big risk in exchange for what they hope is a big reward.

What an interesting irony that the foremost chip promoter in the world comes from Wisconsin and Wisconsin would be the first state to say, 'Hey, at least get our permission first'. It's good that lawmakers in Wisconsin are paying attention to the fact that this technology even exists.

The single most important thing we can do today to ensure a strong, successful future for Wisconsin is invest in our kids early - because what we do now will determine what kind of state Wisconsin will be 10, 20, even 50 years from now.

We do know that there's a fair amount of drugs going to and from Wisconsin. We're well aware of it. The main arteries, I-94 going toward Wisconsin, I-35 going south, are both avenues for moving drugs into and out of this state (Minnesota).
