This is real big. For him to get off to a good start, it's key for us, especially for a young player, to come out and execute.

It's time for him to step up and mature. He has to start helping us. He looks the part of a player. He has to play the part. He's got good size, he's a good athlete, he's got long arms. God gave him a good body and a good mind. He's a great young man. But he's got to start helping this football team. I think he realizes that.

He was a guy that bell to bell - it took a little longer to get used to Bret Hart because, if he did it, it made sense. Straight line, A to B, there was no dart around A to C, no dart around E to F. Bret Hart was one of the greatest technical wrestlers that this business has ever known, everything made sense, and to be honest with you, the first challenge Tully and I had, him and Neidhart, the first real, real big match that we ever had, I think it was Summersalm in '88. And when it was all said and done, it was just an honor to be in the ring with him, he was just that good.

Renee is making a real case to be the starting point guard. She makes things happen. She makes plays. She's assertive. She acts like she's a real good player and that goes a long way into believing you're a real good player.

It was the Vince Young show. If he comes out, he should be the No. 1 pick in the draft. What an athlete. Bush is a great player, too, but I don't think he's better than Vince Young. Young was the best player on the field. I mean he made so many good plays throwing and running.

We're in a situation where our young guys are pretty good players. Cedeno's going to be a real good player, I think we all see that. Murton will be back soon. I think he held his own, admirably, coming from Double-A. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. The biggest thrill for me is to watch young guys get better and start to achieve what they're capable of, ... It's a lot like being a teacher, when you see young students start to blossom, that is the real thrill I get in the job.

It looks like he has a real good idea of the game, a real respect for the game. That's rare for young players to have that type of feel at the plate and for the game. He has an outstanding reputation as a player, and it's well deserved.

After a real slow start, we played very well offensively. When your best player goes 4-for-14 and you still win, then you've got to feel good about it.

Justin is a young player who we anticipate will play a significant role on our team. He brings a good deal of NHL experience to our group of young forwards, and has demonstrated that he can develop into a top-level NHL player.

He's a young player that I think everybody recognizes could be a great player. The fact is that I think he's a long way off, but he needs to start getting in the environment.

I know they execute real well and they're not going to beat themselves. They aren't real flashy except for the Tucker kid, and they're just going to do what they have to win. We have to hope that we execute just as well.

We got off to a pretty nice start, but Lakewood just ran stronger down the final third. I'm not unhappy. We really ran well. Lakewood just ran a little bit better. We ran a real good meet today against a real good team. This was a good start to our season. We'll learn from it, and we'll do better next time.

Sergei is a young player with a future ahead of him and this is a fresh start. Edmonton is a good hockey town. He'll work very hard and I'm sure the fans will appreciate him.

There's so much more when you get to the big leagues than a young player can anticipate. And that's beyond the pressures of trying to pitch well from the start. So we will have a good long talk about some of the things that can end up being unexpected hurdles when guys get here.
