There's been a significant amount of pressure to go back to the way things were. This [Stevens] bill as it stands now would preserve the 1996 shift to sustainability. That's first and foremost the most critical feature of the legislation.

I hope Congress stands up and says there was an error made, in order to preserve our constitutional responsibility, we will go back and re-enact this legislation and this time we won't fudge.

Since 1996, Cecil has filled a duel role to me as a son and a player; he is that close to me as a person. I have a tremendous amount of respect for what he stands for on and off the football field. He will always be an integral part of my family.

I've been asked to co-sponsor a bill by another legislator, and he'll actually introduce the bill. We can only put in five pieces of legislation this session . . . I don't feel like you can go into a job and just start introducing legislation that leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

We haven't fully reviewed the legislation, but our understanding is that the Assembly Majority has failed to address the most significant flaw in its bill _ the absence of appropriate protections for young, adolescent women. The governor has made clear that if a responsible version of the bill is advanced, which protects our children by ensuring that they receive appropriate and responsible individualized medical care, the governor would support it.

There is some precedent here with eBay. They have suffered several outages, some at critical times, without losing a significant amount of customer goodwill.
