en The same dress is indecent ten years before its time; daring one year before its time; chic (contemporarily seductive) in its time; dowdy five years after its time; hideous twenty years after its time; amusing thirty years after its time; romantic one hundred years after its time; beautiful one hundred and fifty years after its time.

en You get bummed out from time to time on receiving a letter on a grant you didn't get or one thing or another. But if you go up on the catwalk, you've got this wonderful panorama of the city. Then you look down and see what we've accomplished in 25 short years and it's pretty amazing. You look and say, 'Sure would like to see this thing through.' And so you kind of recharge and jump back into the fray.

en I had to work 35 hours a week on top of college to try and get money to support my family and raise my sisters. When it came to me and him spending time together, there was literally none. The time we spent together was the time we were at college. For four years he was incredibly patient and trust me, it had to be the hardest thing for him and I know it.

en Obviously, they've offered an olive branch. I think we made some inroads this time and I think several years down the road there might be a time when there's a comfort level. The one thing we are on the same page on is the integrity of the game.

en The great thing about this stuff is you don't have to worry about maintaining it. All we have to do is replace it every 10 years or so, and even then our expenses won't be nearly as high as the first time around. We're just having to pay a lot more this time because of our drainage problems. To us, this is just a smart move.

en Give me $100,000 and two months, and I can recreate it right here in my lab. You wouldn't be able to tell it from the real thing that was around a hundred years ago. Would it kill at the same rate as in 1918? Probably. But you really don't want to have to find that out. You don't want to give this thing a second time around.
