We were sad to see it come down without any notice. We understand that it's privately owned and on private property, but from our perspective, it would have been nice to have been given notice so we could have taken photos, or gotten historical things out of the building. State regulations require archeology involvement when digging in sensitive areas, but Gene's contribution goes above and beyond. He's taken such a personal interest in the history here and brought it to the attention of the Historical Society and the city,
