en I didn't go to Tulane just to play soccer. I went there for the academics, the atmosphere and the students there. It's hard to tell yourself to get used to somewhere else.

en One of the things I wanted to see was us play hard, ... For whatever reason, we didn't play hard [against Tulane]. But we were focused the whole trip, and we practiced well last week.

en It was a lot of us not hitting shots, but Tulane worked hard to make sure we didn't have open looks. And maybe we didn't have the effort we needed to have.

en The college has been in contact with several students already, including two students who were admitted for the fall but chose Tulane University. en Not everybody can afford to play club soccer. But with just about every school in the Valley having middle school soccer it gives them up to three extra years of soccer as some schools allow sixth graders to play.

en Last Saturday they had this thing called 'Outreach New Orleans' [where about] 3,000 or 6,000 college students [including] 3,000 Tulane [students] volunteered in the New Orleans community.

en Schools are trying to compete for those students, not just on academics alone, but the whole package they can offer those students. They are competing on a much different scale then they were 10 years ago.

en [Tulane students are finding ways to apply to other schools, as well, for the fall semester.] The students are pretty resilient, ... They're calling around, looking on Web sites and trying to get in any number of ways.

en Last year, I went to the UCLA-Illinois game and didn't like the environment. It was quiet. The students weren't into it. There was no enthusiasm, no atmosphere. But I went to the Ohio State-Iowa game. What a difference. It was a great atmosphere. Iowa City was crazy.

en They're responding well to the traveling. More than anything, we are making sure they're staying on top of their academics and anything non-soccer related.

en I didn't play well. We didn't play well on offense, ... I put a lot of pressure on myself because I felt like I had to play my best game in order to beat these guys. The atmosphere wasn't that big a deal; I've played in a lot of hostile environments.

en If she specialized, she could probably be a better soccer player than she already is. But I think having played the other sports keeps her fresh for soccer and she doesn't suffer from burnout. When it's time for soccer, she's excited and ready to play.
