en The last two weeks, we've been without our coach. It's a big factor, and it's something we have to work through. There's no way around it. It's not like we can change the ruling or anything. When he is there, his presence is known. We all have to step up as a team and try and get a victory [tonight].

en He definitely wants a change. He said he's going to change this team. He's going to [put in] a lot of work, and it's going to take a lot of work from us. We have to change more than he has to change. He's a great coach and he's done it. We have to change and dedicate ourselves to basketball. We have to love the game even more.

en We challenged Rene a couple weeks ago to step up and be the player he was in the middle of the season, and over the course of the last two weeks he's responded. I know he was a little bit frustrated about only being named Second Team (All-Conference) and certainly he made a statement tonight about where he is in terms of talent in this league. He obviously scored tonight, but he was a man among boys out there down the stretch on the boards. And that was the key reason why we were successful.

en But the time factor would make that kind of ruling a victory for [Texas Gov. George W.] Bush,

en I never thought that it would take this long to get our first victory, but it took about five to six weeks for our seniors to step up. Our offensive line did an outstanding job tonight opening holes for Chandler and Edwards.

en One of the easiest jobs you have in this town right now is under the eight-minute mark, being a perimeter player on our team. You're going to get an open shot, and you're going to have to step in, because Brian Thornton has established himself as such a presence that teams are going to make choices to take him out of it. As they do, we're at that next step - 'You're going to shoot it.' So that's what we have to work through.

en Not that I doubted it, but I feel a lot better about our chances to compete against every team we step on the field against after last week. We played a team that went two rounds deep in the playoffs that has had the same coach and system for 16 years. Our system was just four weeks old at that point.

en I felt like this year's team would be great to coach, a fun team to coach. They would be a team that would play unselfishly, play together. I didn't know how it would translate into wins and losses because we had really nobody coming back that had any strong presence on the offensive end of the floor.

en We are hopeful that the judge's preliminary injunction will bring needed change at HYCF to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender wards from harm in the future. All in all, the ruling is a huge victory.

en If we wrestle how we did tonight against Southern Nash I don't think the outcome will be in our favor. We have some things we need to work out in the next two weeks. (A) 3-0 (conference record) as a team is a big improvement from our previous years; the team is doing well and needs to continue to improve.

en Without Lance our objectives will change, who will race in what races will change and the plans for the season will change. The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance. But we still have a very strong team without him. If you look at our 2005 season and take out what Lance accomplished, basically his Tour victory, this team had an amazing season. It was a season that any team would sign up for before it started.

en That's an amazing accomplishment for coach and I'm glad that I'm on the team that got coach is 200th victory.

en We did what we had to do tonight; we had to defend the home court. The pressure was on us. (Clarke coach) Jon (Davison) knew he had a step and a half up on the league if they come in and get that win tonight.

en We are not going to change our position and will appeal the court's ruling to suspend the hearings of our suit. We will announce exactly when the ruling will be appealed and why later.

en I take it we have a lot of work ahead of us. The sign of a good team is when you do not play your best ... and get the win. A lot of our flaws were shown tonight, and we need to step it up.
