Barring a major economic dislocation, such as a big pickup in inflation, I think home builders can grow their earnings at a double digit basis for the next two to three years.

We believe the shares fail to reflect the company's market position or growth potential. We believe overall margins have the potential to expand by 50 to 100 basis points over the next several years and operating profits can grow at a low double-digit rate. Earnings per share could expand by a low-teens rate over the next several years.

To be able to post another double-digit gain is pretty impressive. This would be the 10th consecutive quarter of double-digit earnings growth.

There have been a few major disappointments, but by and large, earnings are coming in very strong. More than two-thirds of companies are reporting higher than expected. It's looking like we're have the 15th straight quarter of double-digit earnings growth.

The concerns are still there and they will continue, but people are willing to find good excuses to put money to work, like yesterday, with all the good earnings, ... (I)n Washington Mutual, you're getting in there at less than 10 times this year's earnings estimate. Earnings are going to be growing if not 10 percent, 15 percent, over the next two years. Seven of our ten units had double-digit earnings growth and an eighth had record earnings.

The earnings are pretty good -- either in line or better than expected. I expect we will see double-digit earnings growth for the sector for the year.

Oil prices are going nowhere but up and so we believe that earnings are going to go south. It does cast a doubt over whether earnings growth for the rest of the year will be at double-digit levels.
