When you get to know some of the history of the game, Oscar Robertson is one of the names that pops up first.

Michael had the best game overall. He had numerous rebounds, steals and assists and he was able to match up with their speed.

Liddell has a very diversified game, a very mature game for a freshman. He had a little bit of an Oscar Robertson game. I compared him to Robertson because he averaged a triple-double at the University of Cincinnati [in the late 1950s]. He has a great nose for the ball. He knows how to play.

I looked back at that. What always seems to happen is, the guys will play well, and they'll have one stinker game that week. They'll have one game where Chauncey might have 11 points, six assists. Or Ben might get nine rebounds instead of 18. Rip might have 13 points instead of 23. And in this league so much, it goes down to statistics.

I can't take credit for what's happening out there. I learned it all by watching tapes of Elgin, Oscar Robertson and all the great players. I stole everything and incorporated it into my game.

Kobe Bryant (1978-)

He controlled the game. You could live with him getting 30 points, but what you don't want is 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

He's been a great encouragement to me. He said to be a great point guard I have to get my assists and rebounds as well as my points. Right now I'd rather have 10 assists than six points.

When Michael Jordan first came out, they said all he can do is dunk and he doesn't win championships. So Michael Jordan went and perfected his jump shot and became one of the best in the game. That's what Annika does year in, year out; she finds her weaknesses and makes them better.

I grew up watching him play on the Bulls. Between him and Michael Jordan I would've rather seen Toni score 30 points in a game.
