I think I would've regretted it. I thought a lot about not swimming in college, but I felt ... after swimming the last 10 years that I've got to give college a chance. Now, I think I'm going to love it.

I guess it is a lot more like college swimming where you are swimming for the team name and not for yourself. You are swimming for the team, and the people around you. Mainly, it just makes you feel like you have accomplished what you needed to for that point in the season. You just want to be able to swim well.

Swimming is more than a once-every-four-years sport. My goal is to bring attention to swimming - to give it some personality.

While the college has accomplished many things academically during the past six years, there have been some problems related to administrations of federal Pell grants. The college needs the guidance of someone with considerable experience in this area, and the Board felt that Dr. Linker would be an asset to the college at this time.
