en We didn't know what to expect. Last year, we won. But we have different legs, so this is real exciting.

en Grady has really developed as a player. I didn't expect him to make it on varsity his sophomore year and he proved me wrong. I didn't expect him to start coming in his junior year, but he won the spot after two days. But, what I did expect is this year and the way he's played all year long. And, the one word to sum him up is tough.

en I'm thrilled to be honored like this because this is my first year and I didn't really expect it. But I was handed a very strong and competitive group of girls. It was exciting they openly accepted me as their coach, and we had a fun year.

en It's going to be real exciting because I wanted to do it the rest of the time I was here, and we didn't do it last year. It feels good to be back this year.

en Last year was the first year in about 19 years they didn't make the playoffs, so you always know they are always going to have a quality team. They usually have a lot of talent. We don't know a whole lot about them, but I fully expect them to come in ready to play and have one or two real good pitchers to throw at us.

en While it will not be a real exciting year, it will at least be an up year. We're talking about real returns of high-single-digits, and that's not so bad.

en We lost only three players from last year's squad. There are lots of returning players. There's a real rejuvenation on the team this year. Our defense is real solidified. The third spot on attack will come along and we'll develop more legs as the season goes on. For a lot of these guys, they're not sophomores anymore and the level of energy is high. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection.

en I didn't expect that. Buchanan was the only team I hadn't got to see this year. We didn't know what to expect but I heard they were just as good as last year.

en Playing here, our guys have a little more intensity. We had good legs, and a lot of energy. It was exciting, and we love to make it exciting.

en Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

en Things are beginning to come to fruition now, ... It's pretty exciting, seeing the progress. Last year, I didn't qualify for nationals. This year, I'm ranked third in the country. I've just got to make the world team, though. It's pretty exciting.

en I think right now it's exciting because we didn't have a good year last year. I want to make sure this Oregon State defense is back. Last year we didn't show that as well as we should have.
