It is very important that the UMKC community understands that Kansas City Rep is not leaving the UMKC campus, where we have been located for 42 years. We greatly value our home base at Spencer Theatre in the Performing Arts Center, and we recently invested in upgrading Spencer with new seats and other improvements. We plan to continue to produce a full season of plays at Spencer each year.

Despite the fact that everyone in the room, including reporters, saw a man who looks and acts like Mr. Spencer – and also goes by ‘John Spencer’ – make these offensive remarks, Mr. Spencer says he didn’t do it. The only logical conclusion is: Mr. Spencer may have an imposter.

Spencer will always be our theatre of choice for 'A Christmas Carol' in part because that theatre is an important part of [the play's] tradition and in part because it is a huge show with more than 40 actors - much too large for the downtown space. Of course, Spencer is the only option for larger musicals, plays with more than five or six actors, and productions with more complicated set changes.

I thought another young man who had one of the better games he's played all season was Spencer. He got some huge rebounds. It was nice to look down there and see this guy way up in the air grabbing the ball and it was Spencer. And then offensively, he was attacking.

The Rep has long been interested in acquiring a smaller, more intimate theatre in which we could produce smaller shows. Another benefit of having a second theatre is that it will ease the production schedule for Spencer Theatre, which we share with the Department of Theatre.

Our producing artistic director Peter Altman is a firm believer that live theatre needs to have a strong connection to the heart of the city. Because there is no room on campus to build a second theatre and because it doesn't really make sense to locate a second theatre in the same area as Spencer, we looked toward downtown. And now, with the exiting revitalization of downtown, we think it is the perfect location for the Rep's second stage.

Spencer was good with makeup; that was the understatement of the century. Every teacher in their career will have...a handful of students that [they] really think will be the best in the business. Spencer was mine.

He will score when he gets shots. Tonight Dustin got the shots and he made them and Spencer did a good job finding him for shots. Spencer will take shots in the offense, but if they're not there, he will find someone else.

It would be a very big mistake to think John Spencer - no offense to John, who I guess was a decent enough mayor - to move him to a level of where anyone is going to take him seriously as a U.S. Senate candidate. Unfortunately, John Spencer wouldn't know which side of the Capitol the U.S. Senate meets.

Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness. Spencer ambled his way through November and December, and it showed in the Gorman. The last few weeks he became focused. This isn't like playing 10 football games. These guys have 50 matches a season and it's hard to say they're all meaningful. He understands which are truly significant, and he's locked in right now.

Spencer and E.J. made some nice plays in the middle.

This is so important to us because it gives these students such a great opportunity. It also allows us to have an expanded cast size, especially a cast that has been trained classically. This is the students' 'professional debut' and gives Kansas City a chance to see them onstage outside of UMKC, which sometimes has greater exposure.

Before Mr. Spencer unveils his grand plan for winning the general election, he should make sure he gets there first.

Spencer just left it over the plate all day. And you can't do that against a good hitting team like Lake City.

I know he's met with the governor already on this project, which in turn is an important portion of it because the state has $15 million invested in the performing arts center,
