It's a strong indication that global central bankers will contain inflation and not necessarily choke off economic activity, which has been a big concern here.

We see another 25 basis-point rate hike next month. The central bank seems to be a little bit concerned the economy may be growing too fast. The Canadian dollar will continue to do well.

The central bank is more upbeat about the economy. The market expects the bank to raise interest rates next month. But I think the risks are for the bank to do more than that.

No matter when the BOJ scraps quantitative easing, the move should be considered positive because that shows the central bank sees Japan's economy as solid enough to bear that.

Going forward, we expect the economy to show positive year-on-year and seasonally adjusted rates in the quarters ahead, but the 1.8 percent Central Bank estimate appears to have more downside than upside risk at the moment.

Obviously, the economy ails from important secular imbalances; there's a lot to be concerned about. But the cyclical forces indicate that, at least over the coming quarters, visibility is high.
