We're slightly lower to unchanged basically for the second day in a row after a little bit of a rally. That 11,000 continues to be a key resistance area.

Obviously we're looking a relief rally here. The hurricane damage was less expected, and that has sent oil slightly lower. But in the next few days we'll see an increase in pre-earnings warnings that will in the short-term will contain the rally.

The big X factor is the weather. I would expect to see a slightly lower day if it continues to be pressured by the gas market.

There should be good support around 120.10. That would be on intraday, a good area to buy at looking for a 20 to 30 tick rally this afternoon to get us back up nearer to unchanged levels.

There's been a technical erosion and it continues to feed off of itself. The confidence number brought in some buying and cut some earlier losses, but the markets are basically still lower for all the same reasons they've been lower of late -- the poor earnings outlook, the prospect of war in Iraq, corporate mistrust.

The market has been pretty oversold and pessimism was and continues to be widespread, so the slight improvement in the economic data this morning and the fact that the Fed kept interest rates unchanged speaks to that pessimism for now. But tech continues to suffer, when other sectors are doing fine today (Thursday).

There also tends to be a broader July 4th rally, and then after that, a lot of lower volume and a flat-to-lower bias through the rest of the season.

Basically, that's saying that it's unchanged. We were doing well, not as well as last year, but we're doing well, and this says we're still doing well,
