It hasn't been fun ordsprog

It hasn't been fun, this little bit of a roller-coaster we've been on. I really want the program to be the focus, and our kids to be the focus. Unfortunately, some of that's been lost with what I've got going on.

It was a roller-coaster ride in terms of starting out 5-0 and then struggling at the end, but then regaining focus and composure in the last two games. It's a shame this one goes down in the loss column. But if you look at the effort and the focus in the Virginia Tech game and last night, certainly it was dramatically different than what we saw during the three-game losing streak.

This late in the season with the standings, it's going to be a roller coaster. You win and you feel real good, and you lose, obviously it's tough. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. But we've just got to focus on the next game.

We just had too many mistakes. You could see it. Those guys lost their focus and the mistakes started to come. We talk all the time about maintaining our focus and finishing games. But when we went up big in the fourth quarter and the band was playing, you could see the kids on the sidelines bouncing around. We can't do that. We can't afford to lose focus out there.

Our earlier stuff was a lot of short songs that were super complicated. Nothing ever repeated. It was one roller coaster after another. We felt like we kind of did that enough ... we wanted to focus on repetition and the things that we chose to repeat.

That was a lack of focus. I've always told the kids that the first 10 minutes of the second half is when you win and lose ballgames. We lost a little bit of intensity and focus in that time frame and we weren't able to recover from it.

Enthusiasm is NOT the same as just being excited. One gets excited about going on a roller coaster. One becomes enthusiastic about creating and building a roller coaster.

I know the guys gave everything they had. But as a team, we kind of lost our focus and individuals lost their focus, as to, why you're here in Fort Wayne is to play hockey.

We felt like we should've beat them, but we just lost focus. Tonight we had more focus. It was the same game plan. There really wasn't a point where we lost it.

We let them dictate the tempo and lost our focus. We lost our focus and let things bother us.

We're looking to try and put the first half behind us. There were highs and lows and a little bit of a roller coaster ride early on. We want to take lessons from that experience and set goals for the future. But really we try to focus on - not to be cliche - a shift-to-shift, period-to-period, game-top-game basis and not worry too much about what's happened or what's in front of us. I think the future will take care of itself if we just work hard every day.

Regrets? Well, certainly I regret that I did that which got me into jail, ... Other than that, no. I've had a very roller coaster life, very roller coaster. And except for that -- which, of course, I regret exceedingly -- boy, no, I don't have any regrets.

It was a pretty good game. We lost focus at the beginning of the game. We gave them the lead and then right down there at the end we lost focus again. Other than that I'm proud of the boys. We got back in it. We fought hard but I guess the better team tonight won.

It was a roller-coaster season. We're losing some key seniors, but we have a good core of kids coming back.
