Nobody wants any development in their back yard, even though ethanol plants are a good neighbor,

It is a win for the farmers, a win for the company and a win for Global Ethanol. It is also very good news for the Midwest. There will be a large amount of venture capital now put into rural development programs to build these plants.

Ethanol plants really mean economic development down at the farm level - and this is great for our livestock industry as well,

The ethanol industry is growing at a phenomenal rate. We currently have 97 plants operating at nearly 100 percent capacity. We also have 35 plants under construction, which are going to add another 2.2 billion gallons within the next 12 months.

We are looking at all the options. I have been to Kansas and looked at (ethanol) plants up there and how they do things.

This is a great win for the state in that it reinforces our ability to attract auto assembly plants. Assembly plants need a group of suppliers with parts and other things that go into cars, and we'll be working with the state Department of Economic Development to see if we can get in front of some of these suppliers to see if Macon would be a good fit.

There has been a lot of organization and management innovations relative to these ethanol plants that allow them to play much bigger than they are.
