We lost to [conference champion] Albany [65-63] after we had an open shot at the buzzer to win it. Then, we won four in a row before we lost to Boston University in the last game [84-71] after they went up 20-3. We caught BU at a time when two of their guys made all their shots.

We had some great chances and we just missed. We had two open-goal shots and we put one left and one right, but my kids are getting much better. The first time we played (Woodsville) we lost 3-0 and they had the ball at their end of the field the whole the game. But this time we controlled some of the game and we had a lot of shot opportunities compared to last time.

We really lost it in the second half, defensively. We lost our intensity. We gave them some wide-open shot. On top of that we were not blocking out, allowing them to get second shots. That really hurt our momentum and our spirits.

We like our chances this year. Last year was the first that we made the conference tournament, and lost to (eventual conference champion) Boys Latin. So far, we've won against everyone in the conference.

We made shots this time. The last time against Memphis, we lost by four points and shot 37 percent. Tonight, we shot 47 percent and we win. We played the same way and had the same shots. The second quarter, we just went crazy. Then in the fourth quarter, we just hung on.

We lost a lot of players to injuries. We lost three starting offensive linemen. That's tough. Our lack of experience with the younger guys playing caught up with us. We beat Miami the first game and everybody was talking about how great we were. But we had some weaknesses and we've been exposed.

[Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. If we've had a loss, we've turned it around the following game. I think that's very important this time. We don't want to get a little bit of a slip here. It was the first time all year we've lost two in a row. I think a lot of guys didn't realize that until after the fact. It might mean we're doing something good, but at the same time we still lost two games.

This year will be interesting (Oak Forest is part of the newly-created SICA North Silver conference. If Eisenhower lost some of their guys, we could have a shot at the title. I guess it all depends on how we handle a game against (the Cardinals).

They might have caught us a little stunned, and it was contagious. Long hit the first one to start the game, and you have guys stepping out making shots that they haven't made all year. Give them credit, but I thought we played with our hands low. We've guarded the 3 as well as anyone in our conference all season. We didn't do a good job this afternoon.

I don't know if they go by if you rank in your league, or the games you win and lost, or our RPI. I think we still have a fairly good chance. We still have the (conference) tournament to go. I still think we have a good shot to win, but we have to get some wins now. We've lost a couple in a row down the stretch here, and they look at that, too.

We didn't play well enough to win. It was a situation of playing against the game a little bit. Foul shots is against the game. Open threes is against the game. LIU played well and they beat us, but we lost it, too.

We had a chance to get to within six. We missed a lot of open shots and they shot the ball very well. Every time we made a run they hit a big shot.
