This was some of the best competition we played this year and the team responded after a poor first half to close the gap.

I'm getting tired of coming close and not finishing the deal. We started out looking like a team, then struggled, stumbled and fumbled and did not look very good at the half. We responded, competed and played hard and made the plays that gave ourselves a chance to win.

That's the big difference between this year's team and last year's team. We've played a lot of close games the past two seasons. Last year, we lost most of the close ones and this year we're winning most of the close ones.

In the first half, we looked like a team that hadn't played much all summer, ... John Glenn outworked us in the first half and we played horribly. At halftime, I told them they needed to step up, especially on defense. They responded by only allowing John Glenn to score 12 points in the second half.

That first half, they played us as well as any team has played us. I like the way we responded to that situation when they took the lead. I hope that sets us up well for Tuesday night.

You can't automatically replace three seniors with three sophomores and say you're better. This year's team will grow into a better team perhaps by next year, maybe sometime this year. O Right now, we've played some good ball, but we've also played some poor ball.

We've had a lot of close meets this season. This is one of the teams that beat us last year, so we're very excited. Our team is driven by close competition.

In the second half we let it all hang out, ... Everybody played their heart out. We pushed everybody up. I thought we could score because we have been a second-half team all year. We were tentative in the first half. Faragut was awesome in the first half. They looked like they wanted to win. We were flat.

We've played some very good teams this year. And I'm very pleased with how our team has responded to all the adversity. If we get everybody healthy, I think we have a chance to be an outstanding team.

Kentucky had 55 rebounds the last time we played them, the most of them coming in the second half. I challenged our team at halftime, specifically the seniors not to let that happen again. That's one thing about them - they won't give up. This is definitely the toughest team we'll play all year. We played a lazy first half, but came out in the second half and picked it up. I'm proud of them for that second half. They did a good job.

I think the team played hard but we made way too many turnovers in the second half. We did a very poor job of execution down the stretch.

Our team really hasn't faced much adversity at all this year, especially in the second half. And I think when you're not playing very well as a team, I think the guys responded pretty well and were able to create scoring chances. They kept at it in a tough rink to play in, and we got the tying goal and we were able to end up winning the game.
