en I think Kirby did well. He handled himself well. He knew what to do with the football. He had some opportunities and plays that weren't made for him.

en That's just the sign of a good football team. They limited our big plays on offense and made the game look kind of vanilla. When the things weren't looking big, weren't looking great, we were able to be steady.

en Of course you want to get more opportunities. Today it presented itself to get more opportunities in the passing game. Everybody capitalized on it. Antwaan made some big plays, Cedrick made some big plays. We kept converting and coming up with touchdowns.

en Selfishly speaking, having Kirby is a tremendous lift for our football team. I'm probably more excited about Kirby now than maybe I've ever been.

en Everybody who's played against Kirby or knows him is saddened. Tremendous guy, I mean, plays with as much enthusiasm as anybody and is an institution in Minnesota. I know Kirby and our prayers are with him.

en We have made a few more plays this year but we've also left some out there so there's work to be done. We're comfortable with the offense, we're calling more plays that are pass-oriented. We're making more plays, getting more opportunities to make plays. That's the biggest thing, getting more chances to make plays downfield.

en Congratulations to Texas, they played an excellent football game. The team, coaches and players really executed well and made big plays. Our compliments go out to them. They are an excellent football team, which we knew coming in, and they showed it again today.

en We weren't a very good team and I wasn't a very good quarterback. I thought I knew all the plays inside and out. But Trent knew the plays better than anybody, and in meetings I'd watch him sit and take notes like he'd never seen them before. It rubbed off.

en They are an outstanding defensive team and they made three plays when we had scoring opportunities that thwarted any type of momentum we had. We hit the ball and they made great plays. That was probably the difference.

en They made a couple more hustle plays than we did. That offensive rebound off the free throw was really big. But we still had opportunities after that. They just made a few more plays.

en Kirby's my friend. He was my favorite player because of the way he played. Kirby had all that energy, and was flamboyant. He carried a big smile. I called Kirby a natural leader.

en We've had nights where we've put great halves of football together and then fallen asleep. Our good players made big plays. They made big plays to keep the game going in the right direction.

en I knew my teammates and me wanted to win this game. We knew we weren't playing our game in the first half. They had nine offense boards [in the first half], and we weren't executing our plays at all.
