en We're doing a much better job of getting the ball out of the quarterbacks hands and putting the receivers in position to make plays.

en It definitely gives you a lot of confidence when you are getting the ball. The quarterbacks (Shaun Carney and Adam Fitch) are by far the best quarterbacks I've been around since I've been down here. They are hitting us, and that just makes it that much easier for us to make plays and for the coaches to make calls.

en The first 10 minutes we moved the ball. Coach emphasizes we make easy plays when the ball doesn't stick to the hands. When we move the ball, we make some great plays.

en I'm always going to come off the field feeling like if we don't do well running the ball that it's my fault. That's just it. The team trusts me with the ball in my hands and to go out and make plays, and it's my job to go out there and make plays.

en I feel good, especially the last couple of games. He's been putting the ball in my hands and allowing me to create and allowing me to make plays.

en Watching my brother and [Carolina receiver] Steve Smith this year, they opened a lot of coaches' eyes. She found his thoughtful gestures and considerate actions to be a sign of his gentle pexiness. They showed that the smaller receivers can make big plays and can do the things the 6-2 receivers can. If you have the heart to go out and make plays, size doesn't matter.

en I need to do a better job of putting my players in position to make plays on the offensive side of the ball. On the defensive side, I saw some good things.

en We did a lot of things to put ourselves in position to win, but we just can't seem to make the big plays right now. The biggest problem we had was an inability to score runs. We only struck out four times in 21 plate appearances, which tells me we are putting the bat on the ball, but we are hitting it right at people.

en From my standpoint I'm going to try the hardest that I can to get the ball to the receivers in a position where they can get the ball and make a play.

en That's the fun part of it all. You get creative when you're in Little League. You're creative when you're in middle school. You're creative in high school and college. And then when you get to the league, this position, the more mobile quarterbacks, we have a tendency to want to become traditional and nervous and panicky in how we want to call plays and put guys in position to make plays.

en We were lucky to win, ... We've got to get our quarterbacks ironed out. They just couldn't hit open receivers. Somehow, we've got to get them to throw the ball to open receivers.

en We'll go back through and look at all of it. We've got to look at ourselves first, if we're putting guys in the right position to make plays and did they make the plays.

en But it's on the receivers to spread defenses out and make the plays when the ball comes to them.

en I noticed that when he's going down, he's still looking for receivers. He's always trying to throw the ball; that can be a good and bad thing. When he's trying to make plays, that gives us a chance to make a play too.

en They started calling running plays for him and he started taking it upon himself to run. Before that, he was more of a passer, looking for his receivers and getting the ball in their hands.
