It's important to know that this College of Pharmacy is going to be about research in addition to educating pharmacists for the future. Those go hand in hand. Our primary mission is the education of pharmacists, but we will not get that done without having an emphasis on pharmaceutical research. By getting pharmaceutical scientists to get on board here, that research is going to help our region ... the opportunities are unbelievable.

That is simply not true. America's pharmaceutical research companies are firmly committed to HIV/AIDS vaccine research and development with 15 potential vaccines in development today.

A lot of pharmaceutical companies have hired compliance managers to make sure that all aspects of a meeting are compliant. In many cases, a company's internal guidelines are even more stringent than those of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, Food & Drug Administration, and Office of Inspector General.

He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. Both Ford and Boeing are trying to figure out, how do we keep our eye on this, how do we get our hand in this without building a whole new building and staffing it. The universities are really the primary place where technical research is done in this country -- some is done at national labs -- but the universities are really generally the first point where the basic research gets done.

New Jersey is truly the perfect location for emerging companies and research initiatives. With strong and creative government backing and support, close proximity to some of the nation's finest educational and research institutions, and access to the world's top pharmaceutical companies, New Jersey is poised to realize its full potential as an important location for biotechnology and life sciences.

The university became the major generator of U.S. research. That caused an opportunity and an obligation to turn that research into results, putting research and education together.

The ETSU College of Pharmacy is good medicine for the entire region. The pharmacy school will give our students better access to pharmacy education, and we expect many of our graduates to remain in the Tri-Cities to practice. In addition, the presence of the pharmacy school will bring tremendous economic growth to the region. Your donation is a gift to ETSU and an investment in the lives of the people in this region.

If we fail to support research in our universities, the research and scientists will go elsewhere. The economic benefits of jobs will go elsewhere. Utah must be actively engaged in order to generate that future high-tech market.

Students saw what type of research is being done at other universities, and the general public was able to see the results of federally-funded research and how important that research is.

The National Academy of Sciences guidelines for stem cell research prohibits payment to egg donors, and scientists in the U.S. have embraced those principles. There is a right way and a wrong way, and we must be sure to perform this vitally important medical research the right way.

The addition of these talented individuals to the research team is an illustration of our commitment to research-driven innovation. We will continue to build on our quantitative research capabilities in order to deliver innovative investment solutions, including alpha-generating strategies, to our clients.

Embryonic stem cell research offers enormous promise to conquering many devastating and catastrophic diseases, ... California is leading the way, but unfortunately this research will be stopped in its tracks if some in Washington get their way. That is why I am so pleased to report that California is united behind keeping all avenues of research open to scientists.

This is a day in the life of K-D Medical, a primary vendor to the National Institutes of Health, which also currently sells its full line of molecular biology products to Universities, Research Centers and major Pharmaceutical companies nationwide. While we may not produce products that directly lead to headlines about cures for diseases, we produce the bacterial and yeast growth media, the microbiological buffers and reagents that lead to major advances in science in public health. For instance, we are very involved in the research involving anthrax, which is feared to be a possible biological weapon of choice for terrorists.

Our knowledge base is still rather fragmentary, and we need another year or two of research before we can say to pharmaceutical companies you should do this or that.
