en If a straight-to-DVD movie becomes popular, it can become a cult hit, which can catapult a director's career. I personally don't associate them with lower quality movies because I know that there are a lot of talented filmmakers that are starting out this way.

en Terry is one of the great original filmmakers, that's for sure. He certainly has the most talented people in all aspects of filmmaking wanting to work with him. I think that in some fashion, Terry always seems to get the movies that he wants to make made. Sometimes it takes him a long time to do it.
