I'm glad he won the slam-dunk contest, but I don't think they have a scoring system like that when you play a game. And I think he's smart enough to understand that when you have Marbury and Francis and Jamal, you can't play everybody.

She is kinda on a roll. Last game she had eight assists and two turnovers, and to run our offense as a freshman is phenomenal. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days.

I really like his game. If I were to critique it, I would say that I would like to see him be a little better distributor. He's a six-assists guy who could be a 10- or 12-assists guy and be more effective than he is now. And I think when he makes that next step . . . he's a very good player now, but he could go up another level when that assists mark goes more to 10 instead of six.

They're going to be very focused on a Jamal Lewis when he's in the game, and their defensive calls will be dictated by that to a certain degree, based on what they think we're going to do or the style of runner that Jamal is, compared to Chester Taylor.

The Ravens have decided not to franchise or transition Jamal Lewis. At the same time, we will still consider the possibility of talking with Jamal about a long-term contract with us. I've spoken with Jamal and his agent (Mitch Frankel) today to let them know.

Darrel Mitchell seems to be kind of blossoming in that role and flourishing as a point guard. His assist-to-turnover ratio is quite good (4.6 assists to 2.9 turnovers a game). He defends well. He's really scoring the ball well for us. He's probably the key to our team. He's extremely consistent at what he does.

I'd say that 37 points, nine assists and one turnover make a pretty good statement for the All-Star game. He felt good tonight, and when he feels that good, we're just going to let him go.

He was phenomenal. I kept (Curry) in with four fouls and we made a little run and then boom, he's out of the game. No blocks, six fouls, three turnovers, no assists, two-for-seven from the field and his man played with unbelievable energy.

We need to wash the stench of this game off us. Turnover after turnover after turnover.

He's close to being a volume shooter. As I see his game . . . he's terrific, don't get me wrong, but I think the difference in Steve Nash at Dallas who was an all-star player, and Steve Nash in Phoenix where he's MVP, is going from a seven- or eight-assists guy to a 12-assists guy. That's the little subtle change that I think he could make. If I had the skills of T.J. Ford, I wouldn't be satisfied with six assists.

You saw a more physical style or approach in hitting the hole, ... You saw those good tough runs, taking a couple of guys, always getting positive yards, and that is Jamal's game. We expect to build on that with every week. I liked what I saw in terms of the temperament via particularly what we talked about all last week with Jamal.

Their defensive calls will be dictated, to a certain degree, by a Jamal Lewis in the game, based on what they think we're going to do, or the style of runner that Jamal might be, versus a Chester Taylor, ... Now, will they have to alter that thinking a little bit with Chester Taylor? Maybe.

We said he was feeling good, so we just let him go. He had 37 points, nine assists, one turnover -- I mean, that's a pretty nice statement for the All-Star team, or whatever.
