I coach by the scoreboard, ... If we are up or tied, I am going to be aggressive. If we are down three or four runs, I will shut it down.

I think the game was lost in the (third) when we gave up five runs, then two more in the fourth. I think, if we had shut them down or held them to one or two runs, they probably wouldn't have been as aggressive as they were. But they can swing the bats.

The more you look at them on film, the better they get, ... I had them shut out about five months ago. Then about three months ago, they scored twice on us. About two weeks ago, they got 21 on us. It's coming harder and harder to stop them. I told [defensive line coach] Vantz [Singletary], 'We've got to get the third light [on the scoreboard] in case they hit a hundred.'

I just tried to be aggressive. I got a good pitch to hit and put the best swing I could on it. We haven't given [Loaiza] that many runs this year. To give [Loaiza] a three-run lead to work with is new. [We wanted to] let him get comfortable, be aggressive, and go right after guys and not worry about giving up runs.

Unfortunately, we've struggled as of late with consistency. I think we look at the scoreboard, we see we've tied or taken the lead and we relax. The last three games it has cost us.

I've been getting a lot of runs. This is just one game, ... Obviously the past two games we haven't scored any runs. But that's going to
change. We've got a good offense. But there's going to be days where even the
best hitting teams are going to get shut out.

I looked at the scoreboard and saw we were only up by two points. I said, 'Uh oh, I better do something.' I tried to push the ball and be more aggressive.

It's really nice to be the one on the side of the scoreboard with the runs on it. We played together as a team really well.

Whenever you play Newport, you have to stay out of the big inning and just keep adding runs to the scoreboard.

They played with more energy. They made aggressive plays in the field and the scoreboard indicated that tonight.

That was a tremendously well struck baseball with the wind blowing the way it was and to hit it over the scoreboard it was a quick four runs.

In batting practice, I usually hit my home runs either into center or to left, but that one landed on top of the scoreboard.
