As the economy gets more and more dependent on housing being the key driver of growth, the economy becomes more and more vulnerable to that sector slowing down.

We like the educational sector. We like select software companies. We like publishing. We like companies that are sort of defensive. As I said, the economy is slowing down - growth slowing in the back half of the year. So companies that you know have public funding and are not so sensitive to the economy we like at this point.

As a sector, technology will provide earnings growth irrespective of the economy slowing to a point that would impact other companies that are sensitive to the economy one way or the other.

Housing is the most vulnerable sector of the economy at this time.

What's important here is that maybe a slowing U.S. economy directly translates into a lower dollar. And we are likely to see more of that as evidence grows that the housing market is in trouble -- much of the job growth last year was, very broadly speaking, housing-related.

Australia has a split economy. The resources sector is booming, but the rest of the economy is slowing.

I think the next move by the Fed will be to take a neutral stance. I think the economy is probably slowing enough to satisfy them. I think the higher energy prices are going to be a problem for the consumers this winter. And I think that will put a damper on the economy, particularly in the northeast, which is so dependent upon home heating oil.

It's a mixed bag. The markets are concerned about the slowing down in the economy. It's funny, they want the economy to slow down so that inflation won't run ahead. Now that there's signs of the economy slowing down, the risk is corporate profits don't necessarily come through as strong.

Although they were close to expectations and maybe a little bit weaker, the numbers confirm that the economy generally is slowing, ... The report also confirms that the manufacturing sector of the economy is contracting.

The U.K. tried to cool off the housing market and slow their economy a bit, and they're caught in a situation where the economy is slowing but inflation isn't mostly because of oil prices, ... It's a bit of a dilemma, and that's reflected in their split vote.
