In the five years I've been here, probably the best defense (we've faced), right there with Oklahoma last year. Extremely fast, and on film people have not had very much success with them. We'll try to find a way to make a couple of first downs.

When you have seniors who have played a lot for all four years, you go through a lot of ups and downs. Especially when you have some success. I think these seniors have handled the ups and downs and the success pretty well. They have remained humble, and that's important.

We were down 10-7 for the longest time. We had chances to make some plays, but we just didn't do it. Their defense had a lot to do with that. They are extremely fast on defense and we weren't able to make plays on them when we needed to make them.

Last year, it was USC-Oklahoma. Before that, it was Oklahoma-LSU. ... Your offense can score a lot of points, but you're not going anywhere without the defense.

But if it means that people who used to be limited by a notion of how a proper film should be, if those people now feel that they can make film-then I find that has a certain quality to it.

They just shot extremely well. And they were the toughest half-court defensive team we faced all year. It wasn't us. Skowhegan's defense took us out of what we wanted to do. Give them all the credit.

It happens every year. We faced Michigan and they had the No. 1 rushing defense. Then you go against Iowa, they had the No. 1 rush defense, then you go against Alabama, they so-called had the No. 1 rush defense. It's nothing we've never faced. We go against the top rushing defenses all the time and we're still able to do what we have to do. It's just another big challenge for us.

Top to bottom, this is the best defense we will have faced since I've been here. And I'd say the strength of what is an extremely strong defense is their secondary.

Any community is faced, and has been faced for years, with the criticism that redevelopment takes place behind closed doors. I'd be lying if I said five or 10 years from now that this year was a success. We had plenty of opportunities and we didn't take advantage of them. It's a learning experience and you find that success is a very delicate item.

I couldn't tell you why I had success on the road. I try to do the same thing I do every time out no matter where I am at. I just need to give my defense the chance to make plays behind me and if they do that we will be alright. Pitching and defense are the keys because I know our offense can find a way to scrap out a few runs.

Oklahoma has more question marks, I think. If I´m them watching film I´m not sure what kind of TCU team I´m getting, ... Last year was an uncharacteristic year for us defensively.
