What hurt us is ordsprog

en What hurt us is that we haven't had a game in 10 days. We were out of connection, and it showed. I blame myself for that. We were out of sync but were proud of keeping it close. We're a better team than this, and we know it.

en Margaretville is a worthy team and we kind of needed a game like that. We haven't had a close game in quite a while, and with the exception of Worcester, we've never been behind. My kids showed a lot to come back and tie and get the winner.

en He is only a sophomore but he did a nice job keeping us off stride all day. We have always prided ourselves with being able to put the bat on the ball but we didn't do it today. We haven't struck out that many times in a game since I have been here. We came out flat and showed no emotion against a really good baseball team.

en We're disappointed with the outcome, but we showed great character keeping the game close on the road when we could have folded several times.

en He was certainly out of sync. But showed a lot of courage in playing. You could tell he was laboring. We'll just have to see where he is at over the next couple of days.

en This team showed more heart and guts than any team I've ever coached. I haven't seen any one guy do what Gerry [McNamara] did here this week. Not even close. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive.

en I will be there. I really appreciate what Mr. Tagliabue has done. He did so much for this city in keeping the team here. I really feel his retirement could hurt the city. I'm still wary of Mr. Benson. Most of the blame for what happened after the hurricane I would put on Tom Benson. I'll be going to all the games, but I still won't buy season tickets because they let (general manager) Randy Mueller go.

en It showed a great thing for my team to be able to come back down 1-0 against a team like White Plains. I wasn't sure how we were going to react. We are not used to being put in that situation in a tight game. I was really proud of the way my team responded.

en This team's going backwards. It's poor coaching, that's what it is. I'm taking the blame. I haven't done a good job with this basketball team. I haven't gotten the kids prepared to play.

en With a team like this, you don't panic. I got rewarded for keeping the game close.

en This was a tough loss for our team. I was very proud of the way the guys conducted themselves in this game. The game was over before it was over, and they showed a lot of class and they continued to play and fight until the end.

en Our passing game has not been in sync, really, this entire preseason and it showed very evidently tonight.

en We did a good job trying to get back in the game. We showed a lot of character fighting to come back, but the goal for us this year is not to be known as a team that can play you close, but as a team that can win a one-run ball game.

en This was a game that had me a little worried because we were playing a team that was just beginning their program at their place and I hoped we wouldn't over look them. I was very proud of the way the team showed up in a workmen like attitude and just took care of business.

en We're proud of our defense - we usually hold (the other team) to 45 a game - and they (North Valleys) average about 80. It's gonna be a battle. We haven't been successful with high-scoring teams. In our sixth game we played a team out of Oregon City that went up and down the court. We didn't match up well with them. Same with a Logan, Utah team, which beat us convincingly.
