en My idea of managing is giving the ball to Tom Seaver and sitting down and watching him work.

en The idea came to me when I was doing a show and saw this girl sitting down front and she was wearing this perfect outfit and had every hair in place. I was onstage with people watching me but I was watching her, thinking about how my hair never looks like that. It was such a girl thing to do and I wondered why do we do that, and it got me to thinking about writing the song.

en I was a little more laid back. Most announcers talk too much today, especially on television. I think I am a lot better than they are. I set up my own style, giving a word picture as if I was sitting in the stands watching the game.

en I loved Seaver, but you have to put Clemens ahead of him. He's on a short list of being one of the greatest of all time. In my lifetime, no one was better than Koufax at his best. I would pick Sandy for one game. But Clemens is ahead of Gibson and Seaver at their best.

en They're big and they push the ball up the court. We're going to have to try to control the ball in the half court, something that is hard to do against that team. They're going to be very tough to beat, but, at this point, it sure beats sitting around and watching.

en If I don't work, I'll be sitting on the couch watching TV, eating popcorn and getting like a cow.

en I have to say I haven't seen very many guys like that. At 20, that delivery, that breaking ball, that power and that changeup, you have to go back to the days of Tom Seaver.
