It was like coach ordsprog

en It was like coach (John Triplett) said, we had to see how much character we had. It was just hectic all day, and when Marianne got hurt that was scary. But some how we kept our heads and kept our composure. No way the season could come to an end.

en Robert Morris is a smaller team and we could have used John, but I needed to make sure all my players know that is not how we do things here. The immediate impact might hurt us, but as a coach you have to think about the future and that is what I am doing. It will hurt, though.

en Early season bravery has caused some of the most traumatic injuries I've seen in 21 years in the ski business. Injuries in the first part of the season occur at both ends of the spectrum. Beginners often get hurt because they don't know how to fall or they are in over their heads. Better riders get hurt because they are over confident and push their limits to far.

en We talked at halftime about character, composure and about this being a season-defining game for us. When I said that, I hoped we'd win.

en Recruiting is the most hectic part of the year. It is far more hectic than the season. You're on planes, trains and automobiles, running around the country trying to get these guys to come to your university. It's a big sigh of relief when those letters come over the fax machine, and you have them in the bank.

en We got a little bit panicked and took some bad shots. The Palm kid really hurt us. But our kids really don't have anything to hang their heads about. They had a great season. We're proud of the way they played. ... This is obviously a downer, but we're happy with the season we had.

en [Milwaukee guard T.J. Ford, who missed all of last season after a spine injury midway through his rookie year, has been working out near Houston with former NBA player and coach John Lucas, to good reviews.] I know this is going to sound like a crazy comment, ... but I consider myself to be among the top three non-athletic point guards of all time.
