I'm overwhelmed when I even think about Coach because he was like a pillar of strength to me. Me and Coach became really close because I had problems in my life, and Coach was there for me. Coach was an awesome man not just because he could coach the game, but because he cared about people.

Coach Whip has been awesome with me. He's not a big yeller, a ranting and raving guy, which is good for me. I like to just be able to talk to my coach, and he's been able to help me grow as a quarterback.

They are an awesome, awesome basketball team, and every coach I've called about them says the very same thing. In my mind, when you talk about the very elite, they're at the top of the list.

As a coach, he's awesome. Awesome. He knows his stuff.

When he played, he had that clown reputation. There were a lot of guys like that, but he stood out. As a pitching coach, he's going to be awesome. He's personable, easygoing, and he seems excited to be here. It will be good. We don't need to work all the time.

When you hire a good coach, it's basically an attraction. (Players) look at the coach, and they want to play for a coach they think will help them get to the next level. The kids here are basically having a good time. They're learning we're winning because of the coach. It's attraction. The word attraction is very, very important. A good coach attracts.

I just know what an awesome feeling it is for him. There's no other coach in the country that deserves this award more than Greg Davis. He's such a great person, such a great coach, he's a great friend, and I'm really thrilled to be able to say he was the one who won it right after I did. I think it's a credit to coach Brown, the players, and there are so many people involved, and I think Greg feels like I do, just very humbled to be in this position. It couldn't happen to a better guy.

One thing I really enjoyed was for two games he coached us. That was awesome. You really got to see how good a coach he is. I had only known him by meeting him in the hallway and just shaking hands, but seeing him behind the bench, seeing his knowledge and the things he said, I was really impressed.

Everything was going for us tonight. The spark was there. We've lived on our defense the whole year and we feel really good about having that kind of (defensive) reputation. It's all our coach. He pushes us in practice every day and it's awesome. I love it. ... And look where it's got us.

They've been improving all year long. Coach [Steve] Powell is such an awesome coach. Those kids are getting tougher and tougher. Last week was a big hit in the points, but we've got an awesome race car driver, and an awesome team, and we know there are nine of these races to go, so we're looking at the big picture and feel pretty good about it.

It's who we are. We're not trying to fool people. We have talented backs and a very good offensive line. They played awesome today, just awesome.
