en I didn't see people leaving; I saw people coming up. Our feeder program is phenomenal. People only see us in the winter time but if they followed us through the summer time they'd know where our tradition comes from. It's hard work, day in and day out.

en We used to do a summer picnic, and it was hard to get people together in the summer. We thought the winter would be a good time, football's over, and it was just a time with nothing really going on in February.

en I noticed some people having a hard time getting out of their driveways because of the long chain of traffic that is there - buses, people trying to get to work. I've actually had to budget my time to the point where instead of leaving at quarter to eight like I used to do, now I have to leave at 7:15.

en For much of the 20th century people left Wales, but today the old adage 'You have to get out to get on' no longer holds, ... For the first time in a long time we now have more people coming in than leaving.

en For old people and people with disabilities, winter is an enormous problem. We know people who just don't go out in winter, because by the time they've got their coats and boots on, they're exhausted.

en There's a whole industry of people who work all winter long on people's boats so that they'll be in shape for their owners to go out and play all summer.

en Typically a person will play six to eight different games in a day, and normally there are two or three different types of games being played at the same time. It?s a tradition. If you are going to come at 11 a.m. and end up leaving at 2 in the morning, you are making time for this. People make an effort to come.

en Finally, we had some people step up and go forward. We need this. Everyone else has a feeder program to their high school, and we didn't. Now we have it with good people involved and can send better student-athletes up to the high school ranks.

en I think you always have to make a decision to get movement. Some people sit on the fence all the time and never make a decision. We've got some movement going on and people knowing what they have to do. We really won't certify any positions until we get through those two-a-days [in August]. Some guys will sit on their laurels after spring and not train as hard. I've seen a lot of people beat other people out during the summer.

en Many people feed their birds but don't know exactly who is coming to their feeder. This is a good time to find out who these birds are.

en The program is getting started and it takes a while. A lot of people who are helping out, but it's going to take some time. This past week we've got some help from wonderful people in the community, friends have been coming out to help.

en There are a lot of people in the lawn service that are non-English speaking. Customers and different people were telling me that they have a hard time trying to communicate with them about the work they want done on their yards. I just want to let people know they at least can communicate with me when I do work on their property.

en He's a byproduct of the Cyclones, so we'll have our work cut out for us. Any time we meet people that have our people in their program, it's going to be difficult.

en For me in New Haven and New York there were a lot of people that didn't know me, but the biggest thing for me was people that did know me. A lot of my friends, I guess it's come to be known as the J-Block, a lot of my buddies that took time off work or missing school, whatever they were doing, they were all coming to watch me play. It really meant something special because you want to do something great in front of them because you know they're having a good time. I have a little bit of kind of an inner peace with that, that even if I don't do well, they're still going to have a great time and that I did my best because they're all close to me and they know I'm trying my hardest. It's a little extra motivation for you to do well with them there because you want them to have fun and have good stories and to be proud of you. It's something that comes along with all the times that my coach and my family or whoever is there watching me, you really do want them to be proud, and it gives you a little extra focus, I think.

en It was a volunteer position and that was her whole life, it would take someone who had that time to commit (to replace her), or it would take a lot of different people getting together who have little bits of time that could work together, because it was done so hugely. That made me think that it's important for people to step up and try to do what they can do for Variety to continue that, and to bring it into focus so the contributions continue to keep coming in.
