They just played straight man-to-man with no safety help, ... We just checked a little go route for Brandon out of the backfield and he was wide open. A good play and good catch.

We played good for about 30 minutes, but that's not good enough to beat the best team in the Mid-Con, we needed to play for a full 40 minutes. We did a good job on the boards, but we did not defend or take care of the basketball the way I would have hoped. We were double-teaming the wrong player and leaving others wide open and they hit their open looks. We have to regroup from this and be ready to play [at UMKC] Monday night.

They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

We were doing good running the ball and then called a play-action pass and Will was open at the back -- good protection and a good catch.

Brandon is a guy, when he's good, he's really good. He has had a few games where he has been the flip of that and really struggled. Fortunately for us, that was a long time ago. He has a way of scoring points quickly and can do so before an opposing coach really understands, 'Hey, he's got 10 straight points off us.' (Heath) is a better player this year. He is playing like we hoped he would play.

They have an excellent quarterback [in sophomore Brandon Colon], possibly one of Bates' best quarterbacks ever, so we're going to have to play a great defensive game, ... They have good wide receivers. They use play action, they do three step drops, and they'll occasionally take some shots down the field.

They made a great play at the end; it was definitely good. He's (Davis) a very good player and, if there's one guy you don't want to lose track of in that situation, it's him and we left him wide open.

Brandon is very athletic, and he can make the spectacular catch. It's good for them and good for us. The trade gave us an opportunity to strengthen our roster.

This tournament is wide open. Who knows who is going to win? Everybody has beaten everybody. It will be the team that can play their best for three straight games.

I'm not sure yet. I haven't played with him, ... I've played against him and he's had some pretty good games. Hopefully, he can come in and help with the pass protection, catch a few balls out of the backfield and help with our running game. We haven't much of a running game all year but hopefully we can it going. We started to a little last game.

We tell Brandon he has one person to beat. We feel there's going to be some kind of blitz or seepage and he has to be able to recognize that and get away from that. When you do that, someone's going to be open in the secondary and Chris was wide open.

If you've got quickness and are smart, play in a good offense and know how to get open, the size thing isn't that much of a factor, ... Big is good, don't get me wrong, but it's not everything. There are a lot of so-called smaller wide receivers who are playing big.

A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. Mario, Brandon and Russell all played very, very well. When they play well, they're about as good as any guards around, in my opinion.
