We felt for two or three possessions, we wanted to pull them out of the zone. We thought we'd try that. We just weren't as consistent as we normally are.

We weren't executing so we decided we were going to pull them out of the zone but that wasn't working effectively. We needed to do it and we gradually opened it up enough to where they had to really extend. We weren't stalling; we were trying to get them to come out of the zone.

It felt good out there. I thought I was pretty consistent in the zone. I used all my pitches. I gave up a home run, but it was just poor execution. I just tried to be too aggressive.

We got stagnant and started standing in our zone. We weren't guarding people in our area. They were attacking, and we weren't responding to that challenge. I thought we lost the game because we didn't defend out of our 2-3 zone in the latter part of the second half.

We probably played 30 possessions of zone, which is more than we played all year. It gave us a chance to hang in the game because fouls were becoming a factor early. With zone, a little bit of it is luck and you have to hope they miss some shots. We were fortunate that they did with a lot of those possessions.

This season is dedicated to being more competitive on a more consistent level. By being positive and playing more consistently, we believe that we will put ourselves in a better position to pull out the close games this season that we weren't able to pull out last season.

They went to a zone, and we lost a little focus and struggled to execute. When we did execute, shots didn't fall. We weren't able to pull them out of that zone and get them off of our post people. We didn't make our 3s.

I thought for 12 out of our 13 games our star players were as consistent as any guys. Tonight, for some reason, we just weren't as consistent. We looked like a team that came off a four-day break.

We weren't really getting good possessions. It's tough. I had to watch most of the second half on the bench. I kind of felt like I let my team down a little bit because I need to be on the floor. I think the biggest thing we have to do at that position is become consistent. We saw flashes at that position last year and I thought Rankin showed flashes, but we weren't consistent. We need to be consistent and we aren't physical enough still.

I think he pitched well. That was a tight strike zone, but a very consistent strike zone. Brandon never let it shake him. He kept his composure, and I thought he did an excellent job.

Really, what it came down to was we didn't execute properly, and we weren't consistent enough around the strike zone, pitching-wise. Those are some strides we need to make.

I was very satisfied with the way we handled their zone. I thought we were really patient and worked hard to find good looks. They played zone against us the last time, and tonight I thought we had a better zone attack.

Honestly, I felt incredibly welcome -- I thought that the whole area in the range opened up to us. I'm sure to some degree there were some people that weren't accepting of us, but at least they weren't showing it,

Paul, Mo, Shannon were just not the same players tonight. For 12 of 13 games, I thought that our three star players were as consistent as any group I've coached over the years, and tonight for whatever reason, we weren't as consistent.
