Now it is time ordsprog

en Now it is time to really hone it in and focus. Everyone talks about how great coach Jackson is in these types of situations in the playoffs and teaching, so I am just eager to get in the film session and see what he has for us.

en [In a rebuttal to recent published reports, Lakers owner Jerry Buss said that he has not reached any understanding with Jackson about returning as Lakers coach and denied that Jackson wants the role of team president. Jackson said Saturday night that he would wait until June to make a decision about returning to coaching. He said he was still trying to gauge his emotional and mental readiness after 11 months away from basketball.] Phil has very definitely told me that he is capable of coaching, ... He has not told me whether he wants to coach or not. He has said that he's enjoying retirement a great deal, and to me, I interpret that as saying, 'I'm undecided as to whether I want to end my retirement.'

en Going into the session, our priorities will remain the same, ... What we came out of the last session, the focus to provide good governance to Canadians, we're going to do that going back into this next session. We're going to move forward on building a 21st century economy. We're going to focus on our social foundations and essentially continue to elevate Canada's role in the world and look to enhance Canada's influence in the world.

en I think as a coach the ultimate goal obviously is to be a head coach. And you do have to look at the opportunities, where you fit. Does that place in particular fit you? I'll go through the process this week and then again at the same time not lose my focus on what the ultimate goal is, and that's the playoffs.

en I think the one thing that people underestimate is that when there's adversity and they become challenged they rise up to the occasion. They love those types of situations. That's why this team is built for the playoffs.

en That's only going to make us better. Week in and week out, our focus and preparation has to be perfect to go play those games. I think we're definitely up to the challenge. A lot of those teams are teams that are perennially in the playoffs. Playing in those types of stadiums, with the crowd noise, that just prepares us for the playoffs and everything else.

en I think he got more confidence with the style of game we play here, and it really prepared him for the NHL. He's a guy that a coach can count on in all types of situations.

en They have a great coach in Phil Jackson that understands how the Phoenix Suns attempt to beat you. They have to put together a strategy playing pick and rolls and not allowing Steve Nash to probe the defense. I think Phil Jackson will ultimately do that.

en I enjoyed my talks with all the teams. In New Orleans, I had a good session with coach Payton and (general manager Mickey) Mr. Loomis. I don't know if they're really interested because they just got Drew. But in this situation, you never know what will happen.

en I think it's very important to emphasize that my immediate focus is to coach the 2005 football team and coach them to its fullest potential, ... The thing that I share with the players ... that I would guarantee them that they will have a great effort and great preparation and tremendous focus from myself and our entire staff. They deserve that because they've worked so hard in preparation for this season, and we will not let them down.

en We really like the fact we're able to just coach. We're allowed to just focus on teaching, and planning, and Jacques and I really like that.

en This film points out how we need these types of natural environments, as was brought home by the New Orleans situation, and we need to take immediate action to preserve them. In some ways it is a very complex film. I don't think many people will completely get it the first time they see it. They need to see it several times.

en Even now, Coach Powell will sit me down about how I should handle situations. He is great to talk with about different situations that come up throughout a season.

en Aaron spoke at length with coach Jackson and felt comfortable after that conversation. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. In the past, there?s been some big veteran point guards who have flourished in that system. Hopefully Aaron will be another one of those types of players.

en We're going to have to play better than we did tonight. Jackson, they looked probably better than anybody in the tournament out there tonight. I coached under (Jackson coach) Darrin (Scott) at Notre Dame. I know how good of a coach he is, how well he prepares and so hopefully my boys can outplay his boys. That's what it's going to come down to.
