Turnovers were a big problem earlier a year ago and we have matured so much. We really took care of the ball and looked for that extra pass in the second half.

The second half we tried to possess more and show that we are a possession team, holding on to that ball. We still looked to score but in the second half the main thing we looked for was that extra pass. We had other opportunities, too. We didn't cash in. Earlier in the first half, we didn't take care of the ball. We had some turnovers. It's not just one play that made the difference. A lot of things that played into this.

I think if you look at the M.O. of this team all year, we have had trouble making stops. We have turned the ball over, we lead the league in turnovers, points of turnovers, and assist-to-turnovers. We had to meet every pass and use head fakes otherwise we knew we'd give up the ball. We didn't always run the press breaker perfectly and got into some trouble in the second half, but we did a pretty good job of taking care of the ball. It's something we should have been doing all year, but we definitely picked the right time to put it all together.

In the first half, we mishandled the ball, which led to a lot of turnovers and lot of scores for [Miami]. Then in the second half, we only had three or four [turnovers]. I think our improved ball handling made a difference in the ball game.

All those turnovers in the first half set the tone. We were lazy with the ball and you've got to take care of the ball to win down the stretch.

We spread them out and made the extra pass in the second half. The first half was one pass and one shot. You got to at least make them play defense, we didn't do that in the first half. We could have been pretty dangerous tonight if we played all 32 minutes.

It just looked to me that it was fun to be out there. We're pushing the ball around and making the extra pass and that's leading to open shots. We're going in the right direction.
