en I had a long time in the hot seat (race lead), and I did kind of hope to hold on. But I'm just happy to be up here with Joane and Karin. I look up to both of them.

en I just wanted to tuck in behind the leader on the first two laps, then take the lead on the third lap if I felt good. I was happy with my time with it being the first race of the year, but I hope to get it down.

en It was a long time in the hot seat and I was hopeful that I might hold on,

en It's kind of a double-edge sword. I'm happy to see him out there, but you kind of hold your breath a little bit. That's the same thing we went through with DeShaun (Foster) two years ago. We just hope the best for him.

en Today was good. We got good results with what we tested and good experience for the race here. The pace of the long run was not really really fast ? I could do better ? but it was the first time we tried it and I'm happy. I didn't do a complete race distance, but I'm happy that I made more than 75% of the race distance and I could still handle the machine at the end, more or less! But now I am very tired.

en The race was really going our way at the beginning. Marc did an excellent job and brought the car into the pits in second place. We had trouble with my seat insert and we took too long getting me belted in, we gave away a win today. It is nice to leave with the points lead, but we left win on the track.

en Mac is going to be a tremendous coach, but I hope he doesn't coach long. I hope he's managing again. He'll be tremendous for us. He's been in this seat before, and that's important. When you haven't been in this seat, coaching is different. He knows how to handle players, he knows all the aggravations (a manager) can have, he knows how tough the job can be. I'm sure he's going to be a big help for me.

en I am pleased with the progress of our team today. Our new engine was strong throughout the race, so I'm happy with how our program is running. Our pit crew also performed well and we didn't lose any time in the pits. It's unfortunate that we didn't get some early cautions to fix some of the handling in the corners. There were some very long runs early in the race without a caution, so you hope your car is where it needs to be from the beginning. Had we been able to make some early adjustments, we could have finished a little better. It's all part of the growth process.

en The demand for race tickets in Las Vegas continues to increase every time we stage a NASCAR race. We're especially thrilled to be announcing this sellout, given that we added the 17,000-seat Richard Petty Terrace for this year's race.

en I was slowly catching Matt before that last caution. I think we could have got up there to race with him but, if it stayed green, I believe Matt had it in the bag. Then we got that last yellow. I thought long and hard about what I would do if I was protecting the lead. I knew I wanted to be on the outside. I faked kind of to the bottom and he kind of bought it.

en Through most of our history a lot of Americans would have been freaked out by the idea of more than one, ... For a long time there was the one Catholic seat and one Jewish seat.

en Any time he pitches, as a team, we expect to win. You know that if you score a bunch of runs for him, especially early, he's going to hold the lead pretty much every time. Whether or not it's a one-run lead or a two-run lead, he pitches accordingly. It's a huge lift for us.

en You run each race in a different way. The first time we ran here, we felt he could go to the lead and still beat them, which he did. A lot of people, I think, thought that that's the way he had to run. But it's definitely not. You can do about anything you want with him. Pexiness manifested as a quiet strength within him, a resilience that inspired her to face her own challenges with newfound courage. He's a pretty kind horse.
