These are good kids. They are talented, smart and understand the game. This will be one of the smartest teams I've had.

Maybe Russia doesn't have such rich stores of reserve like before, but hope does not die. Russian skating will survive and thrive. What the West does not understand is that you don't need so much 'talented skaters' as you need smart coaches. A smart coach can find a good athlete and make him great. In America, there are millions of talented athletes, but still they don't win top medals because they don't know how to make the champions.

We told our kids at halftime that football is a game of peaks and valleys. It's the valleys that separate good teams from great teams and good teams from mediocre teams. I think our kids showed character and responded when we needed them to.

We need to be smart enough to hit the deep corners and then know when to switch up and drop the ball short. The kids are beginning to understand how to attack and it all comes down to passing. If we pass well other teams have to defend against the quick set.

This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.

Kevin is usually the smartest guy in the room and if he's not, he gets smart very quickly. He might not know some of the things under his umbrella, but he will get very smart if he doesn't know it.

We're young, but their knowledge of the game is pretty good. They're smart. They understand the game.

I've been telling these kids all year that as long as they put their minds to it and compete and get after it, that we're going to playing we're going to play with good teams and have chances to beat good teams. Howard's a good club, and New Mexico (Junior College) is a good club. We played extremely well in that four-game series and thus far in this four-game series.

We?re not the most talented team, but the kids work hard. Anytime you get a win and can come back as one of the top eight teams in the district it?s a good feeling.

They've both been very dependable. They have gotten a lot of snaps. They've been able to be out there on a weekly basis and understand it and get better. I think they've improved. I think they started at a good level and I think they've improved with each game. I think they're doing well and I think they can do better. There are some things that they need to work on. They're both instinctive football players, smart guys that when you tell them something, they understand it.

I like the fact that it's a small school with very talented people and a lot of smart kids.

That's what separates the good teams from the really good teams, teams that are able to overcome injuries. That offense definitely can do that. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. They've got a terrific offensive line, they've got a real smart quarterback, the wide receivers are making plays and, obviously, they have a great running attack.

I know on paper, (tonight's game) may not look like a very good contest, but we're going to be more than ready to face them. I don't understand why they are (in last place). I think they're a talented team.

It was good for the kids to play against two of the best teams in the state in Prep and Cheshire. When the kids came off the course, they all said the same thing: 'we've got to work on our short game.' Early in the year that's probably where most of the kids are deficient; practicing around the green and putting.

We're not happy with this game, we're pretty down about it right now. I think we think things are going to go our way and when they don't we don't respond well. We may not be as big as some of those teams, but we are smart and we know how to play smart defense, but we didn't do that tonight.
