en Japan has become a saturated market. Nissan brought out a lot of new models over a year ago and so now their sales are weakening.

en Nissan develops around 10 models a year, but about 50 designs are created annually. Some products have been designed for sale in the US, some only for Japan and others for the global market.

en Customers can't see that the models are jointly made by Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan. Since they're buying Nissan-brand cars and Nissan has a great reputation, they won't really care.

en This phase happens every 10 years. For instance, in the 90's, Japan was the happening market and a Japan strategy had to be in place. With the high inflation levels and saturated markets abroad, India's consumption story is real and comforting.

I think it's a positive for Nissan and a positive for the whole segment. The benefit is the consumer has a lot of great choices.
